Below is a list of all the equipment that I use to shoot my content.
Cameras
Panasonic GH6 – this is my main camera that I use to capture most photographs and videos.
Panasonic GH5 – this is my secondary camera that I take with me on all shoots. It can be handy having two different cameras on you with lenses of different focal lengths to save you the hassle of changing lenses, ideal when on safari as you never know how close the animals will be!
iPhone 15 Pro – my back-up camera. This is especially useful in situations where I don’t feel comfortable using my DSLRs. It’s also extremely good in low-light conditions
DJI Osmo – my action camera. It’s fantastic for underwater footage and also capturing unique angles. For example, I love to hang it out the window of the car. I’d never feel comfortable hanging my DSLR out the window like this!
Lenses
Panasonic Leica 12-60mm really versatile lens. Allows you to get wide-angle shots, to vlog and also has some zoom when needed
Panasonic Leica 100-400mm – fantastic zoom lens for wildlife photography. Wide range of focal lengths means it’s fitting for most wildlife encounters. It’s very lightweight and small yet can zoom in so far! Equivalent of a 200-800mm for a full-frame camera
Panasonic Leica 12mm– fantastic vlogging or landscape lens. With a low f stop of 1.4 you can get some beautiful background blur and it performs very well in low-light
Panasonic Leica 42.5mm – great portrait lens. The low f stop of 1.2 allows beautiful separation between the subject and background (beautiful background blur) and it’s great in low-light
Tripods and Mounts
When I’m out on a game drive, my go-to set-up is to attach a tripod head to a clamp on one of the vehicle’s railings. In order to achieve this set-up, these are the mounts required:
Manfrotto Fluid Head – really smooth, heavy duty tripod head
Manfrotto Super Clamp – heavy duty clamp that can be clamped onto vehicle railings or other surfaces
Manfrotto Camera Mounting PlatForm Adapter – needed in order to connect the fluid tripod head to the super clamp
Leofoto LB-75 75mm Leveling Base – a new addition to my set-up which I actually didn’t use in Kenya. I noticed that if I turned my camera too far left or right on its clamp, the levelling went wild. This attachment allows you to keep the camera level even when the camera ends up at an awkward angle
